We offer beginner friendly plants, with similar care needs, in appropriate potting soil, and pots with drainage.

So, all you have to do is bring your new friend home!

Light

The majority of our houseplants prefer bright indirect light for photosynthesis,

but not direct light or they may experience leaf burn.

Bright indirect light -- filtered or diffused light, what these plants would experience in their native home under a tree canopy where they receive bright light filtered by the tree foliage.

1. East window - great option, gentle morning light

2. West window - strong afternoon sun, may need filtered with curtains or blinds

3. South window - intense light, plants should be 2-5' away or use sheer curtains

4. North window - low light, may need supplemental light *full spectrum grow

lights, about 12" away from plants

Sheer curtains or blinds help filter harsh sunlight, filtering to a bright but indirect effect.

Moving just a few feet back from window changes direct light to bright indirect light,

Strong enough to cast soft shadows, but not intense enough to feel warm on the skin.

Potting Mix

We use chunky, well-draining potting mix:

1. Orchid bark or coco coir chunks help with drainage & aeration.

2. Perlite, pumice, or expanded clay help with drainage & aeration - mix should be light and airy, not heavy

3. Coco coir and/or peat moss help retain some water, but not too much. Coco coir is environmentally friendly.

4. A little charcoal (detoxifies soil, maintain pH) and earthworm castings (organic nutrients).

Humidity

Moderate to high humidity, 60% or higher

Water

Mostly can go 10-14 days between watering, when indoor

Philodendrons, Monsteras, Scindapsus Water when top 2-3" are dry

Hoyas, ZZs, Peperomias water when completely dried out
